For a second year running, Baros Maldiveshas won the Best Overall Culinary Establishment Award inthe coveted Hotel Asia Culinary Awards. Inaddition, the resort’s chefs won a staggering 41 medals,13 merit awards and six trophies in 29 categories inthis year’s awards. Medals included 8 golds, 16 silversand 17 bronzes.

The success of the 16 chefs from the resort who participated in the 15th AsiaCulinary Exhibition, “I am so proud of this achievement by my culinary team. Out of650 chefs representing 75 resorts, Baros excelled. This really strengthens Baros’culinary department as a first-class institute with extensive internationalrecognition.

Partaking in the 15th Edition of Hotel AsiaExhibition & International CulinaryChallenge was a golden door of opportunityfor me. It was my first time grasping at suchan olive branch and it was a moment I’dcherish forever to walk away from thisexperience with as many accolades as I did.

As noteworthy as my time in thiscompetition was, I feel it could stand toimprove greatly if categories pertaining toyoung chefs were given more importance aswell as the rest too.

Furthermore, it would be more productive to have gifts being awarded that aremore of a culinary nature, for instance chef knives and the like, as the recipientsare all professional chefs who’d never turn down anything that adds to theirgrowing passion for cooking.

I also feel the winning chefs should have their way paved for competitions heldabroad with access to masterclasses in different destinations as this would be anopportunity to cultivate and hone the talent they’d displayed in the competition.

This challenge was the place to be for up and coming chefs like myself to show

As noteworthy as my time in this competition was, I feel it could stand to improve greatly if categories pertaining to young chefs were given more importance as well as the rest too.

I am truly honored to receive the Best Culinary Establishment Award to our resort at the 15th edition of Hotel Asia International Culinary Challenge 2019. It was a bigChallenge for us and a wonderful experience with our hard work to achieve this goals. I would like to thank all the baros culinary team for their confidence and willingness to help me to achieve this goal.

Hotel Asia is the best culinary competition where they help the entire participants to learn new things, motivate them and give an opportunity to show their skills considering the current culinary atmosphere in this country. I am the one standing here accepting this honor but the award belongs to at least equally to the great teams that I have had the good fortune to work with at the various stages of my career
