For over 54 years, Kandygs has been a leading manufacturer and exporter of pure cotton and bamboo textile products in Sri Lanka. As pioneers in the industry, we have been manufacturing, retailing, and exporting fabrics and finished textile products to both global and local markets.

We uphold strict policies for environmental and social protection. All our fabrics and products are sustainable, primarily made from biodegradable raw materials such as cotton, bamboo, and jute. Our products are created on handloom machines, which require minimal electricity. Our "Weaving with Bamboo" project, which champions bamboo as an ecological alternative to cotton, has earned us awards for export innovation.

Our fabrics are primarily woven by rural women artisans across Sri Lanka. We consider our weavers as important as our customers and have implemented initiatives like work-from-home and cottage weaving projects to support our community, thereby empowering women weavers island-wide.

This initiative, launched over 10 years ago in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka, provided 1,000 machines to the homes of village weavers. Kandygs provides training, designs, and raw materials, and we market the products to ensure global accessibility. We regularly visit the project to maintain our quality standards and operate on a 100% buy-back basis, highlighting our commitment to our weavers. Currently, over 100 weavers work from home as part of this project. This initiative has been made accessible to all handloom companies in Sri Lanka, fostering the growth of many individual entrepreneurs in the area. We are very proud of this project, as it has significantly boosted the local handloom market over the past decade.
